Principal Message

At MS 101, we are proud to offer a rigorous, engaging, and well-rounded educational experience that prepares all students for success in high school and beyond. Our academic program is anchored in four core curricula: Amplify Desmos for Mathematics, HMH Into Literature for English Language Arts, Passport to Social Studies, and Amplify for Science. These programs ensure strong instruction, critical thinking, and meaningful learning across all subject areas.

Beyond academics, MS 101 is committed to nurturing the whole child. Students participate in enrichment courses such as Physical Education, Foreign Language, Visual Arts, Music, and Computer Science, which promote creativity, wellness, and real-world skills. We are also proud of our partnerships with Broadway Junior, Computer Science for All, College Access for All, and our community-based organization Kips Bay, all of which expand opportunities and provide additional support for our students. Our eighth-grade students have the opportunity to enroll in Regents-level courses in English, Biology, Algebra, and Second Language Proficiency, offering a strong academic foundation and early exposure to high school expectations. Student engagement extends well beyond the classroom through a wide range of extracurricular activities. MS 101 offers co-ed sports teams—including baseball, e-sports, flag football, soccer, volleyball, and track—as well as clubs and leadership opportunities such as debate, coding, drama, dance, student government, and history club. At the heart of MS 101 is our dedicated team of teachers and staff, who work tirelessly to ensure every student experiences academic excellence, personal growth, and a strong sense of community.
