College Access 4 All (CA4ALL)

 

January 11th was College Awareness Day citywide, and M.S. 101 participated in full force! Prior to College Awareness Day, our 7th grade students learned all about college, including the types of degrees, financial aid, majors, and more. On College Awareness Day, we were lucky to have nearly 20 M.S. 101 alumni come back into their old classrooms and speak to our 7th grade students about their experiences. Additionally, students and staff schoolwide wore college gear, while our teachers shared their own college experiences with our students at the beginning of each class period. 

Save the date for our annual Career Day on June 7th! We are looking for families of M.S. 101 students to come into our classrooms to present about their career paths (all careers are encouraged to present). Look out for a letter for more details soon and contact Ms. Wishney to participate.

Finally, we are working closely with our partners at CA4All to develop opportunities for our students to visit at least one college campus, as well as invite families in for workshops about the college application and financial aid process.
